A full breakdown of what SkyThread does, how trust and safety work, and what (if anything) costs money — so you know exactly what you're getting.
SkyThread opens to a real-time feed of posts from the crew you follow and your wider network — text, photos, comments, threaded replies, reactions, and follows. Posts can be tagged with airports and flights and saved into collections. 24-hour Stories let you share the layover sunrise or the 5 AM gate with stickers, captions, and location tags. Direct messages support 1:1 and group chats with image sharing, read receipts, and live presence. You can post publicly or anonymously, and block, mute, or report from anywhere.
The Crew Lounge is the open forum for industry talk. Base Chat scopes conversation to your airline and your home base, so the people you actually fly with are in the room. Reserve Life is a dedicated space for the reserve grind — venting, tips, wins, and questions from people who get it.
The Layover Guide is a crew-sourced map of every airport city — food, bars, hotels, gyms, and the spots only crew know, with reviews from people on the line. In-Town is a 24-hour pin you drop while laying over so nearby crew can find you and meet up; it uses coarse, airport-level location only, and it expires automatically.
Trip Trades is where you post the trip you want to drop, pick up, or swap and connect with crew to take it. The Commuter Hub gathers jumpseat tips, rideshares, and other commuters at your base. A simple manual Crew Schedule keeps your legs and trips organized in one place — handy reference, no airline login required.
Browse crashpad listings around every major base with full details, photos, and reviews. If you host, the free owner toolkit lets you list beds, manage tenants, track rent, and run a household group chat. Crashpad Owner Pro is an optional subscription that raises the bed cap for larger pads, with more owner features over time.
Crew Events surfaces meetups, parties, and crew nights wherever you land. The Crew Marketplace is for buy/sell/trade with people in the industry (local, in-person meetups for now — shipping is coming later). Crew Deals collects discounts and perks. The Businesses directory highlights crew-owned and crew-friendly companies, and the Careers board surfaces aviation jobs curated for crew.
Verification is optional and earns a "verified crew" badge that travels across your profile, posts, and every feature. Identity is confirmed through our partner Persona, which checks a government ID and a selfie. SkyThread stores only the result — your ID images are handled by Persona under its own policy, never sold, and never shared with airlines or other crew. The badge confirms identity, not character.
Crew Dating arrives after the full launch. It will be open to everyone, with verified members getting a confirmed-identity mark so you know who's real, and it's strictly 18+. When it goes live, you'll join the waitlist right inside the app. A verified badge confirms identity only — always meet new people safely and in public.
SkyThread is 18+ and built around verified members. Block, mute, and report tools are on every screen, and our team reviews every report. Sign-in is passwordless (phone, Apple, or Google). We never sell your data; In-Town location is coarse and short-lived; and you can delete your account and data from Settings at any time. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
SkyThread is free to download and use. A couple of optional in-app purchases are clearly labeled — nothing is required to be part of the crew.
A one-time in-app purchase that adds the verified badge to your profile. Completely optional — you can use SkyThread fully without it.
An optional auto-renewing subscription for crashpad hosts that raises the bed cap and unlocks more owner tools. Billed monthly through your Apple ID; renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.
Crew Dating will be free to join when it launches. An optional premium tier may be offered later; if so, it'll be clearly labeled before you ever pay.
SkyThread is built around verified members, with safety tools wired into every screen.
Confirm your identity through our partner Persona to earn the verified badge — a confirmed-identity mark that travels with you across the feed, Events, Marketplace, Crashpads, and more.
SkyThread is for people who work the line, and it's strictly 18+. The community stays crew because membership is built around verification.
Block, mute, and report tools are one tap away everywhere — and our team reviews every report that comes in.
Passwordless sign-in. We never sell your data. Your ID images are handled by Persona — not stored by us. Read our Privacy Policy →
A space to meet other crew who actually get the schedule. Open to everyone — and verified members get a confirmed-identity mark so you know who's real. Adults only, 18+.
