By accessing or using SkyThread, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
SkyThread is designed for aviation professionals including pilots, flight attendants, gate agents, ramp crew, dispatchers, mechanics, and other airline employees. SkyThread is intended for adults, and you must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Some features, including Crew Dating and identity verification, are available only to users 18 and older.
SkyThread is passwordless. You sign in using your phone number (with a one-time SMS code), Sign in with Apple, or Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for activity that occurs through your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Your username is permanent and cannot be changed after registration. You may change your display name at any time.
You agree to use SkyThread respectfully and professionally. You will not:
You retain ownership of content you create and post on SkyThread. By posting content, you grant SkyThread a non-exclusive license to display and distribute your content within the app.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings, or by emailing privacy@skythread.app. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, posts, and content, generally within 30 days. We may retain limited records where required by law or for legitimate business needs — for example, tax and payout records, and security and fraud-prevention logs — as described in our Privacy Policy. Deletion of your active content should be treated as permanent.
The In-Town feature is optional. Location drops use coarse, airport-level location, are temporary, and expire after about 24 hours. You control when and where you share your location. Use this feature responsibly and respect others' privacy.
Identity verification is optional and gives verified members a "verified crew" trust badge. Verification is performed by Persona Identities, Inc., a third-party provider, which collects a government-issued photo ID and a selfie and performs a biometric facial comparison. By choosing to get verified, you consent to this process. The verified badge confirms that a real person verified their identity — it is not a background check and is not a guarantee of anyone's identity, character, conduct, or safety. SkyThread never sells your ID and never shares it with airlines or other crew. See our Privacy Policy for details on biometric information.
The Crew Marketplace lets crew buy, sell, and give away items to one another. It is a peer-to-peer service that currently supports local, in-person meetups only — there is no shipping or mailing yet.
SkyThread only provides the venue. SkyThread is not a party to any transaction between users. We do not buy, sell, own, store, inspect, or guarantee any item, we do not handle payment or delivery, and we do not vet items or users beyond the optional verified badge.
Assumption of risk. Buyers and sellers transact, and meet in person, entirely at their own risk. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and for your own safety. Meet in safe, public places, inspect items before paying, and do not send money in advance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk of, and release SkyThread from, any loss, damage, dispute, injury, or other harm arising out of a marketplace listing, transaction, item, communication, or in-person meeting. SkyThread disclaims all liability for these to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Crew Dating is an optional feature available only to users who are 18 years of age or older. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.
A verified badge confirms a user's identity, not their character. SkyThread does not conduct criminal background checks and does not screen users for safety. We provide report and block tools, and we encourage you to meet safely — meet in public places and tell a friend where you are going.
Assumption of risk. You assume all risk arising from your use of Crew Dating, including any in-person meeting, and you release SkyThread from liability for the conduct of other users to the fullest extent permitted by law.
SkyThread offers in-app purchases and subscriptions that are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Prices and features may change. Except where required by law or Apple's policies, purchases are non-refundable.
SkyThread Pro is an optional creator program. Under it, eligible creators may receive a share of a revenue pool. Eligibility, participation, the size of the pool, and payout amounts are determined at SkyThread's sole discretion and may change at any time.
Payouts are expected to begin in June 2027, with conservative rates at launch. Payouts are made through PayPal or Venmo. You are responsible for providing accurate payout and tax information.
Taxes. You are solely responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive. U.S. persons who meet IRS reporting thresholds will receive a Form 1099-NEC. Payout and tax support is currently focused on the United States and is limited internationally; we may be unable to support payouts in some countries.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in behavior harmful to the community.
SkyThread is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not responsible for user-generated content or for interactions between users, whether online or in person, including marketplace transactions and dating. Use good judgment and meet safely when meeting people from the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkyThread's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited as set out in our End User License Agreement.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of SkyThread after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
